Sounds of Spammage By: Seanette Blaylock Inspired By: "an old thread I found in my Humor archive in Agent." Parody of Sound of Silence by Paul Simon (License owner unknown) HELO relay, our old friend, We see you're open wide again. Because the spamware softly spewing Left its spoor while we were sleeping. And the bounces that were scattered on the Net Leave a trail To track the sounds of spammage. In greedy dreams they like to loll KFC and PBR, Buy the Desktop Net Nazi list, They try to hide from the sysadmins' blocking, When the plugs are pulled by the wrath of the ISP They cry law suite And claim the right to spammage. And in the trailer parks we saw Ten thousand spammers, maybe more Spammers spewing without caring, Servers crashing without warning Spammers sending junk that most eyes never read And no one cares To hear the sounds of spammage. "Fools", we say, "you do not know Spammage like a cancer grows. Read NANAE that they might teach you. Get Sam Spade that it might help you." And our words, like welcome raindrops, fell On fighters' ears And spelled the doom of spammage. And the people cried and pled, To the gods of RBL. And the sign flashed out its warning In the words that it was forming. And the sign said "The words of the prophets are written in the AUP and TOS And will still the sounds of spammage."
